You are going to the doctor about your knee, right?

No need. It's the knee I sprained two years ago, so I know what the problem is. The knee is weaker than normal because of past injury and is more susceptible to the the "too much too soon" thing. Both legs, from hip to ankle, have been sore for the past couple of days, it's just the knee that insists on rest before it is back up to snuff.

Don't worry! I am healthy ... just ask Obi ;-)

If the pain persists for more than a week, then I would consult a professional, but I am confident this is just an overuse injury.

Here is a thought to consider - if the rest of your body is rested and ready to go, and the knee is holding you back perhaps other exercises that are knee friendly might be helpful in the interim?

My thought is that the body is kept 'in shape' so that when you return to running the body doens't have to get reconditioned from the imposed rest from the knee injury. Swimming or aqua fitness is a good all-body exercise that is very easy on all the joints.

hugs. You will get there honey - I know it!

You are absolutely right, and your thought was the main reason I did so much xcountry skiing this past winter - I can run in the cold, but skiing is way more fun! Swimming is a great option, but since Obi has the car much of the time, it's not one I can use. This is why I'm dusting off the bike :-) Now if only mothernature would oblige me.

I know it's frustrating listening to your body when it's saying too much, too soon. Just listen 'cause if you don't you usually end up having to take off twice as much time recovering from a serious injury. I hate the waiting stuff too, but I learned the hard way that it's a good idea in the long run.
Miss you

I'm also contemplating getting rollerblades. So much to do!

I'm thinking about getting blades again too. But I think I'll start with the bike first.
Let the sun shine
