Had my first appoinment with physio 10 days ago, and after a week of intense therapy and tlc the pain is mostly gone but running is still out of the question.  I have suffered a series of repetitive strain injuries in my left leg brought on by too much too soon, consisting of a mild bursitis in my iliotibial band (left hip), hamstring tendonitis, ( Read more... )

Sorry to hear about your disappointment. I think that you are wise to listen to your body. There are many races, but only one body :-)

Love you

The disappointment was tough, but I realized I'd like to be 60 and still running :-)

Yeah, totally, do as your body tells you. I hope you can get back to running soon. All hail!

I just bought new Trail Running shoes for the that reason....weird!! I got mine at MEC. They're so comfy and have scary treads on then. I can't wait to try them out once the trails finish drying out from the spring thaw. Trail hiking at a good clip, count me in!!! Name the time and place and I'm there with new shoes on! I do need to purchase a new water bottle pouch thingy. Where would you recommend I go?? MEC had a few I glanced at last time I was there but didn't have time to take a closer look. Perhaps you and I could take a trip to MEC and Running Room together. I value your imput in these matters.
The race isn't going anywhere Dapple, it will be there next year....just imagine what you're capable of with that much more training and experience under your belt. With biking and hiking things will work out, no worries.
Stay the course.
Hugs

Which shoes did you get? I saw some nice ones there that I liked, but I'd also like to check out Bushtukah and Trailhead before I buy anything. For the waterbottle thingy I'd check out MEC and RunningRoom. What are you doing on Sunday?

VASQUE is the name on my new shoes. They are a light grass green with grey, and a black toe. They were about $100. I'll bring them on saturday.
Sunday, going to the US with mom. We should be back for dinner though, why??
I'm free saturday morning if you were thinking of getting together for a hike or shopping.
Hugs

I was thinking we could go shopping on Sunday, but looks like you've already got that covered :-)
Saturday morning doesn't work, I'm getting my hair cut. Oh well, we can do it another time.
