Can someone please freakin tell me why hip-hop is so popular, and why Industrial never gets any airplay? I haven’t heard of any rapper opening someone’s mind to the dangers of conformity, the illusion of materialism or even the spiraling chaos and inevitable destruction of which the human race headed. Is ignorance bliss or does mainstream music ( Read more... )

When he sings this what does it mean to you??? I wanna see if I have the right concept

'tonight we light the fires
we call our ships to port
tonight we walk on water

I thought it was more of an analogy

We are here
We conquer
We make miracles happen
We die

Like cycle of life
But I love the difference in points of views

I agree with your circle of life theory. As Maynard James Kennin from TOOL once sang:

this 'is' necessary
life feeds on life..
feeds on life…!
feeds on life…!!
feeds on life…!!!
feeds on life…!!!!
feeds on life…!!!!!

Well I don't real know what he means for "sure" but I have an idea.

'tonight we light the fires
we call our ships to port
tonight we walk on water
and tomorrow we'll be gone'

- We consume without thought (we burn the past to to pay for the present)
- our main desire is the replenish our resources (resources are limited)
- We worship our desires to an apocalyptic end

[Basically we are doomed unless we heed the warnings]

my favorite verse is:

a million burning books
like torches in our hands
a fabric of ideals
to decorate our homes

what are your thoughts on that one?

Frankly, I would not want Industrial music to go mainstream ever. I like that little nook called Industrial music...I like coming home to it...it separates me from the common person.

As far as Covenant goes...I've seen them twice (perhaps thrice..not quite sure, I recall going to a show where I spent a good portion of it sleeping on the floor erm don't ask.....I know And One was on the bill and someone else.) I love the expensive suits they wear. So classy.
