AH! So I've got the basic poster design I want for this mad scholarship contest. The whole theme is "Life ie better with art in it."

I'm wondering if the colors of the 'gunshot' have a specific purpose? If not, I'd suggest that you make them more bold, less girly! (I'm surprized to be telling that to you of all people. ^_^)

They were originally all different colors (bright greens, blues, oranges, and EVERYTHING), but it seemed like overload so I made them kinda themed colors.

But I'll keep playing around with them then if they are girly!

(I actually don't have any Starbursts right now but have been craving them for a week now).

Phaps the guy could be doing something more art related with his free hand? Drawing, or something?

Aw crap, maybe I didn't get my point across.

This man is at a cubicle. It is gray. All of his items are gray. His clothing is dully colored. He has nothing...as in, absolutely no art around him. He is not art. That's why I have him doing nothing. And then BAM! he whips out his art pistol and shatters the place with color.

But I totally see what you are saying. Maybe I should scrap the gun idea and have exploding colors come from a doodle he's making or something...
