Seriously,

Does anyone know what the procedure is for getting a lawyer to look into a negligent Apartment Management Place?

We've not had hot water at night, for three days now.

http://www.legalmatch.com/ you can post and have lawyers look at your case and then give you an idea what it would cost for litigation and the like.

My first piece of advice would be to put your rent into an Escrow account...

Not sure if it's legal in AZ, but my entire building did it in NYC once... and we continued paying rent into this account until we got a judgement that determined what percentage of our rent was forfeited by the bullshit that the super et. al. was pulling...

Illegal in Arizona. You must pay the landlord or they can evict NO MATTER THE CAUSE.

(Obviously, if the place burns down or is otherwise uninhabitable through EXTREME circumstances, it's a different story. Lack of hot water doesn't make it uninhabitable.)

Bryan-- I've got a few contacts. Let me see what I can dig up for you.

Have you checked with Consumer and corporate affairs? greensilk April 5 2005, 14:06:18 UTC
We have government agencies that deal with our landlords, and handle complaints, no lawyers needed. Find out if you have the same...
