Livejournal! I've been neglecting you, I'm sorry. Life just got really busy all of a sudden. (Perhaps most embarrassing is that my reaction to the sudden craziness wasn't "oh, my social life!" but "I AM FALLING BEHIND ON ALL MY DRAMAS, WHY, WHYYY").

Anyway, I did manage to watch Soredemo - ( Spoilers for 6-7. )

it's like i don't even want sleep, pretty people in implausible situations, kill me now as a mercy, zenkai girl, i need a support group for this, soredemo ikite yuku

Wait till you see Fumiya's craziness in the next two episodes. I couldn't wait for subs so I had no idea what was being said, but oh my god, it's just, ughh, it's amazing and crazy and weird and awesome, all at the same time.

And Wakaba and Shota need to get together already! Those two scenes with them killed me, especially when she's crying on his shoulder. I just want them to go and be happy together.

fsdkljfsdklfjsdf WHY ARE YOU SUCH A HORRIBLE TEASE. YOU ARE HORRIBLE. HORRIBLE.

What really got me about the shoulder cry is how she reached out and just barely held his shirt when she asked if it was okay. Like she was ACTUALLY AFRAID HE'D GO. ;___; Wakaba, your emotional center is dusty and unused like a law school library.

*cracks up* I can't say I see it, no. But I do think it's hilarious that one of the only jdrama heroines not crossdressing this season is the one who reminds you of a boy.

Have you seen Tempest yet?

Also have you seen Jiu starring Meisa Kuroki and shirota yu

Yeah, they were both kinda my flops for the season. :/ Though I heard about the sexin' in Jiu so I'm definitely looking to give it another try. If nothing else, at least Meisa is hot, right?

• I want Fumiya to wander over and kill Hiroki's stalker chick because I find her really boring.
• Apparently I have deep feelings about doctors/caretakers taking advantage of their patients, because my reaction to Fumiya's little love story was "OH MY GOD TAKE AWAY HER LICENSE, DO IT NOW, OH MY GOD SO GROSS."
Agreed.

Speaking of skeevy, FUMIYA IS FREAKING ME RIGHT OUT. I'm used to jdrama psychopaths being giant hams and/or gloating serial killers, not... quiet people wandering around with day jobs and stray thoughts of murder.
Yes! It hurts so good...

Hiroki's angry-and-vengeful face wasn't half as scary as his mom picking up a knife during that dinner and just thinking about it. (Also, who the hell is that actress and why doesn't she have ALL THE AWARDS?)That scene... *shudders ( ... )

I didn't even know there were so many great drama actors around, how did they manage to find and assemble them all?

Right? Not only are they amazing on their own, but they play off each other really well, too. The siblings are fascinating, I love Hiroki's scenes with..... everyone, and I get excited every time it's clear Futaba and Hiroki's mom are about to talk just because I know it will be awesome. *___*

which means he's not only one of the best actors the agency has, Fumiya is also an interesting role choice on his part.

Hahahaha, you mean psycho child killers AREN'T agency standard?

I don't know if you know this, but Kazama Shunsuke and Ikuta Toma were actually in the same Johnny's band way back when. Yamapi too. Can you imagine if they'd actually debuted? All that talent bursting out of one group? Whoever was responsible for breaking them up must feel like a moron now.

as soon as they hit twenty (or twenty-five, or thirty) their acting career is overOr worse, they get stuck playing high schoolers well past the age they ( ... )

Grown women should have better career opportunities than short plaid skirts.

Yup. But I guess it can't work out, what with all the high school dramas that need a big pool of young actresses and actors countered by comparatively few roles in grown-up dramas. There's never a large group of (incredibly good-looking) secretaries running through Tokyo looking for an intern who had a fall-out with his mum. I have no idea about whether those actors might end up in acting branches other than "our" jdramas, though. Like, what about other drama formats fandom mostly ignores, or movies?

And... I know you will hate me for saying it, but at least in Japan, the girls can still settle for a "job" as wife. From what I understand, there is quite a large number of young women who only see university or an OL job as pastime between school and marriage, so it might be similar for actresses, and at least they have the added bonus of being pretty. If a Western woman had that kind of history, she'd be considered someone who failed at making a career, ( ... )
