Oh, this is so beautiful and sad.

It might be romantic, but they have never been that way, and the stars fall because the Daleks have destroyed them.

I think that was my favorite line. Something about the way that the war is impacting on them in such a tangible way, even when it's really all about them.

What they all said, basically... this is beautiful and gorgeous and so, so sad - especially because we know how they next meet and what ensues. They really are star-crossed lovers, aren't they; and yet even that over-simplifies a complicated and utterly fascinating relationship that is so much more than the sum of its parts... I think the potential for fic about these two characters is infinite!

I almost hate to mention this because everything about this story is so perfect; but I know if it were my story I'd want to know; so, when you wrote " Nothing has every been easy between them." I think you meant "nothing has EVER been easy..." didn't you?!? *sorry*
