Oh, this is a nice exploration of the complexities of their relationship. I especially like how the closing line that ties into the first... one of my literary turn-ons.

Thank you! I love how many layers there are to their relationship that can be played on. And those lines you mentioned were what started off the whole thing, so I'm really glad they worked :)

Loved this fic. Loved the insight into the Master's and the Doctor's relationship and situation.

This... feels nice! It's calm and ageless and it's lovely to think that the characters might someday reach an understanding like this. Of course, then there would be no angsty drama, which is what many of us shippers thrive on, lol! But its still nice to think they could be like this, one day. Thanks so much for sharing this definite 'Feel Good Fic'!!

Yay! I wrote something happy, for once. Or at least peaceful, which was what I was going for. Interestingly, after I wrote this I watched Persuasion, and realised/remembered how much I loved the stillness and self-containment of it. And then I came back to this in the morning to make final edits, and saw that I'd got a little bit of that mood across in this. (Regarding totally different things, of course, but that general 'feeling'). Or I hoped so, anyway, so this comment really makes me happy that I actually achieved it. Just one of those funny synchronicity things, I guess. Or I'm crazy. And now I really want to write Doctor/Master a la Persuasion. O.O (I will stop rambling now)

Anyway, glad you enjoyed it! I was starting to feel guilty for writing too much tragedy.

Bless! Never feel guilty for writing tradgedy - it makes for great drama/great reading! Mind you, I've started to feel really guilty about always wanting to write fics in which Simm!Master is pretty much beaten up on a lot, is sick, dazed, whatever whatever... I blame John Simm for this, because he does do angst SO well.... I suppose I just want to beat him up a bit and then comfort him...except that somehow he doesn't get much comfort in the stuff I write, lol! So actually I do know how you feel about writing so much tragedy. But I don't feel bad enough about it to stop.... XD

I noticed that the same was true in a lot of Life on Mars fanfic - poor Sam Tyler got regularly whumped by many writers, simmply because, I reckon, JS makes angst look so pretty....

I generally don't/wouldn't feel guilty, and I never (well, almost never, sometimes my Evil Other Self takes control) plan to write long fics with a really tragic ending. But I realised yesterday that literally ALL my oneshots are angsty, and I decided I should probably take a break from it before I ODed or something. I enjoy reading it and writing it, but sometimes you can have too much of a good thing. Someone said that, I think.

I totally know what you mean about liking some injured/ill Simm!Master. I like it on the Doctor too (any kind, I really don't mind) and Sam Tyler. Actually, I guess I'm just a sucker for h/c, but it's especially awesome on the likes of Simm. People shouldn't wear 'hurt' so well, it's bad for my brain.

Oh, I really loved this. From what you touch on with Gallifrey's erasure and how it affected/disconnected their timelines from everything else, to the bond between them, to the lovely moment when they meet again.

Thank you! I just found the idea of exploring the possible consequences of Gallifrey's non-existence too much to resist! Really glad you enjoyed it :)
