Day Seven

I was in a mood for a classic this morning, so I threw on the first CD I ever bought, Yes’s amazing album 90125.

I can feel no sense of measure
no illusion as we take
refuge in young mans pleasure
breaking down the dreams we make real. The song is leave it, thought most are probably more familiar with the hit Owner of a Lonely Heart. ( Read more... )

That is one of my favorite albums, and "Leave It" is probably my favorite song on it.

That is an amazing album. I had taped off my oldest sister since I was like 9. I finally had to get it on CD about 2 years ago, because the greatest hits album podling has just doesn't have the coherence of 90125, and "City of Love" isn't on it. My favorite song off the album? Whichever one is playing right then.

None of the ones I have really have coherence. In some ways it reflects my life well. I can't remember if I copied that cd before you left. I have a feeling I did, but I'm not sure. What with the cd player working intermittently, I don't pay that much attention to what's not on my mp3 player. I've been thinking that when I get it back, I really need to put some Yes stuff on it though... Though even still, I generally listen to Leave It about 10 times in a row.

Oh, and I totally agree on the culture of fear, what with our latest enemies. There was a time when that was gone, but it's back for sure.

I console myself with hoping that if NYC is destroyed I either will be killed instantly or nowhere nearby.

And I love "Leave It" too. I can listen to it on repeat and never get tired of it.

"Leave It" is one of my favorite songs ever. Whenever I hear it, it just stops me in my tracks.

Thank you. I hadn't been able to put my finger on exactly what bothered me about this administration, beyond "that man is pure evil." It's not even the nation of fear so much as the fact that he's a blatant liar, racist, hate-mongerer... and no one seems bothered by this. It's more acceptable to have a mini-Hitler in office than a president that fucked an intern. To me, that's scarier than the threat of war.
