Science fiction or not? The Adjustment Bureau
I had another of those, "oh no they didn't say a sci-fi thing isn't sci-fi, did they?!" moments yesterday on the train. And it's sad, because the movie (The Adjustment Bureau) looks interesting, it's based on a Philip K. Dick story, and... well, frankly, I wanted to see it. But now, not so much. Oh, and if by any chance anyone wants to see OAR at the PNC Arts Center on 8/1, let me know somehow. I'm debating whether I really need to see them again, though I'm leaning towards yes. Help me lean more! -

When I was younger, my younger brother used to try to convince me I was adopted even though we look exactly alike. So alike that people sometimes think we're twins. New heights of dorkitude
I flip on the tv. Arnold wasn't on screen, neither was Linda Hamilton. It was near the beginning of the movie, Michael Biehn has just put on a trenchcoat. It took me probably under two seconds to recognize I was watching The Terminator. I don't even own that movie, and haven't watched it in years, and still I recognized it.

So I read yesterday that Stephen Hawking thinks we should colonize other planets if we are to survive as a race. I agree. And afterwards we should create AI slaves, uh, I mean servants... we'll call them... pylons. And hubris won't be our downfall, though the pylons might not agree. -
