Unlike Pat I'm not looking to leave the country (alhtough I did apply in Winnipeg...) I'm more looking into doing what I can from the only places changes could pontentially take place, inside the beltway.

At least my family has a potential bolthole. My folks live in the UK and Maries parental units moved to France when they retired....

Yeah I'm still looking, but I'm locked into this area. My mother is on disability because of a vision problem - she can't work, drive and reading is VERY hard. Her driver's liscence was due yesterday, and she can't renew cause she'll fail the vision test. Plus my grandmother is still trucking along in the later stages of cancer - it's a matter of time now, you can see it's eating her body. >_
