The Lady Across The Street has been having problems with her eyes lately. I don’t know her whole history, but I do know she has migraines and a shunt in her brain to drain fluid. She posted some medical test stuff on facebook last night and when I looked it up it sounded like the beginning of glaucoma, which eventually leads to blindness.

I can pee downstairs again!
I finished the bathroom yesterday! Hubby did the caulking and was going to reset the toilet when we realized how much work it would be to scrape the 17-year-old dried grout from it (not to mention how water wasteful it was). What the builders left me with after the loo vanity was removed.
Assholes. They cut a notch in the wall for the counter to nestle into. Why?! The chunk missing right next to the chair rail came out when I pulled the backsplash off (I was very careful and went slow, using a putty knife, but they used a lot of adhesive). We are now under a Tropical Storm Warning as winds are supposedly still a bit strong, although it's currently calm on our street. Two of the Weather Underground stations that people have mounted on their homes just down the road from us are now not reporting anything, which makes me wonder what happened to them. Irene is currently a Category 1 hurricane. Rain started at 11:30 pm at our house last night. It's pretty much just a steady rain, but it does tend to get a bit heavier on and off. According to a few different sites we've had about 1.4" so far and they're expecting a total of about 6-12". We're under a flood watch as they expect the storm surge to ( Read more... )
