If you had asked me or Ben, any time before 2007, about our life plans, we would have told you we were moving to Berkeley in May ( Read more... )

Well damnit...I don't get to see you guys much, but I'm glad you're staying...You'll get to move eventually. No one stays in Atlanta forever lol.

Yeah, I think staying here is good for us for now.

If y'all are free Saturday evening, we're having a taco-feast housewarming/birthday shindig, and we'd love it if you guys could make it.

Aw. You were going to be heeeere! But now you're not. That's okay. As long as you guys are happy.

I know. You were one of the things I had been looking forward to about Berkeley. You, the weather, the beach, the liberal outlook, and bands that seem only to tour the west coast.

Well, I'm glad you'll be around for a while longer. I love you guys! It was getting hard to ignore the fact that you were leaving so soon, and I knew how much I was going to miss you.

Not to get all mushy, and I can't say I'm glad Ben is stuck in this school limbo/hell again (I'm really not, because that sucks sooo hard). But I am rather pleased that there will be a bit more Scrabble (or whatever) in our future than we had thought. :)

Sorry to hear about the things that aren't working well, but glad to hear you sounding content overall.

I don't know that I'd say "content." That's a bit too strong. But I wouldn't put it just at "resigned," either. Somewhere between the two, I guess.

Wow, that is a big change! :) But I'm glad you are happy where you are. That's kind-of why I'm still in Seattle. I think I hate it but I just can't leave...

Awww. I didn't know you thought you hated Seattle. What about it do you think you hate?

I'm glad you said "think you hate," because of course I don't *really* hate it or I wouldn't still be here. But I don't like coffee, clouds, rain, seafood, hiking, or health food, which are the primary defining characteristics of the area. I do like beautiful scenery, mild winters, cultural activities (e.g., theater), and nerds, which are all also available in abundant supply. :)

Hey, I wasn't a ling major for nothing. I hope I can pick up on at least some of the (not-so) subtlety of the English languish!

Those seem like reasonable things to like and not like. I mean, I like coffee, but other than that, I'm with you 100%.
