why can't all bands be as cool as the bronx? why can't all people be as cool as the bronx? those guys are so awesome. if i had to nominate a cathartic rock band, they would be it. i dunno. this isn't going anywhere, nor is it meant to just be some shrine to the bronx. so, on that note, new paragraph ( Read more... )

"what are the odds of life existing on earth? a few more hundred kilometers closer to or further from the sun and the climate would be completely fucked. a bit more carbon here, a bit less hydrogen there, and life would not exist at all. a slightly larger moon could throw our orbit completely off track, lost forever somewhere in space. yet, here we are, casually going about our business, unabated, uninterrupted, for millions of years ( ... )

Err, my first line should read "Exaggerated. Earth would still be habitable by humans if the orbital distance from the sun ..."

i guess, but you still missed the point.

and obviously i wasn't talking about slight fluctuations, but i just meant that a trend this way or that could have enourmous consequences.

Ok, let's revise what we've learnt. Saying "obviously you missed the point" without actually addressing this supposed point I missed is just a complete avoidance. A "cop out", if you will. It is not how an exchange of ideas progresses ( ... )

I'm jealous Darren, i'm incredibly behind with all my uni work, and even last year doing arts subjects i never did my reading. Good onya. I guess it makes a difference if you're interested in it or not. And i guess i have been sick, meh operation tomorrow will take away that excuse!! NOOO! I'll actually have to catch up on stuff. pppft.

I want to go to Prague too, it sounds like the most beautiful place...

And heh, all i'll say about the rest of it is that the picture of Saturn is pretty!!!! It's all quite wonderous and stuff, but thinking about it too hard gives me a headache, and often people get all religious about the 'perfection of the universe' which pisses me off. I'm not a fan of 'god'.

i wasn't trying to be religious..? i was just sayin', it's all pretty cool. and yeah, saturn is my fave planet. except jupiter has rings too!!

Assuming that we all got here by a process of evolution, don't you think that if, coming from bacteria, we were in an environment with 'a little more cabron' and 'a little less hydrogen' we would have just evolved differently to suit the environment we were in?
