The shooting in London just serves to show how shortsighted and reactionary the world has become. I was outraged before the Brazilian man was revealed to be innocent and I was disgusted when I heard that civil libertarians in England were supporting the shooting, when the British Police stood by their shoot to kill policy (before AND after they realised they killed an innocent man).

Emptying an entire magazine (I presume the 11 shots were 10 in the clip and one in the chamber) into a SUSPECT from a distance of 30cm AFTER he was already subdued is nothing but an EXECUTION. Nothing accidental about it. Terrorist or not, it's just not right.

The fact that the authorities have tried to cover up the whole incident is similarly sickening. Jesus, no wonder they fought so hard to run their own enquiry, considering every aspect of the incident had been embellished (embellished is actually a nice word, made the fuck up would be more accurate) following the shooting.

Since when did we need government death squads in a developed democracy?
