It's already christmas Eve...
Christmas Eve and have already celebrated with both sides of the family. I've new pajamas and a rice cooker and pretty things to hang on the walls and a good book to read. Reading about the poet who died yesterday...
I was reading about the poet Adrian Mitchell who died yesterday.
Poet Adrian Mitchell dies at 76...
His name tickled my brain but I couldn't bring any of his poems specifically to mind so I looked around for some of them. I found another good article at The Poetry Archive about him. His most famous poem seems to be this one about Vietnam:

Ugggggggghhhhh...can I whine some more?
I keep telling myself that there was something good about today. I suppose I should be grateful I wasn't in the bed sick but still fairly mobile though there were several times I thought my head would explode. I'm really not going to get sick for Christmas...
I'm free! Well...for a week anyway. I left work at 12:02, picked up a couple of things at the store and made my way happily home. I fixed the problem with my Christmas houses, cleaned out my car, did laundry, and made an early dinner. Squeeing about my shows...
Did anybody on my flist watch the last The Mentalist episode? A wonderful episode because it showed us a little more about Patrick Jane's past including a former psychiatrist and mental hospital stay after the murder of his family. A sad story...
I am so glad they solved the case about Adam Walsh's murder. I remember when that happened and it was after that that people really began to take notice in missing children. And of course, the boy's father, John Walsh, has done so much to help find other children. 27 years was a long time for the Walsh family to wait for closure for their own child ( Read more... ) -

Some people aren't really human...
It's all on the news tonight about the little girl Caylee who's been missing in Florida. They've found a body but have to do tests to prove it's her but they seem pretty sure it is. I can't comprehend how someone could do that to a child, especially a parent. What's unsettling is that they have evidence that the mother researched different methods ( Read more... )
