So...if you're a fan of Battlestar Galactica (we all should be...and if you're not, you're missing what is possibly the greatest TV show ever made [no lies!]) then you should be thanking the lords of Kobol that we got the current version of BSG that we have instead of what Richard Hatch wanted to do back in 1999:

So I recently watched the entire original BSG series.

As far as film making aptitude and writing goes, it could not hold a candle to the current re-imagining.

However, they were building an interesting mythology, and I believe that Hatch's sequel series could have been great, and that we would all have been huge fans of it.

In fact, I plan on reading Hatch's series of BSG novels, chronicling the story alluded to in this trailer. It should be fun.

Ugh... sooo bad! The original series had its charm, but this was just awful. I know its essentially a fan made trailer, but the acting was so horrible! The story might have been interesting, but it can't hold an candle ot RDM's BSG.

This looks like it would have been decent. NOT as good as what we ended up with, but still I would have been watching it.
