There's one saying that I think of when reading about anakin in this chapter and that is 'the road to hell is paved with good intentions' - I mean he became withdrawn and snappy because he wanted to protect Obi-Wan from himself and we see that the reason for his marriage dissolving was that he was obsessively over-protective of Padme.
A pleasant read for my current state of mind (bored...post exam-ness with nothing much to do...).

Anakin was frightened by Obi-Wan unconditional love?

Poor Obi-Wan, Anakin is hard to understand.

Yes, I always thought Anakin has a bit of a contradictory personality. Here, he's afraid that if Obi-Wan loves him than he won't leave if Anakin hurts him again.

As a Sith, he had done nothing to harm Padmé, and what they had fought over before that had not been enough to scar her.

Oy. Anakin is so off the mark by thinking Padme is the 'safe' alternative... *shakes head*

Hard to understand? understatement! even when we are told every little thought that leads to his actions, they come out looking like a puzzle! Why does love gots to be so complicated!? just shag the Obi!

Chapter 8

After finally getting some physical contact with Obi-Wan, Anakin decided the heck with letting him go and being patient and demanded that Obi-Wan stay and be his lover. Obi-Wan refused at first, but after Anakin offered him cookies -- and some recreational activity on the bed -- Obi-Wan quickly changed his mind and stayed, and Anakin promptly shagged him.

And they lived happily ever after.
