Apropos of this recent thing, I had an audition at an Episcopalian church that's closer to home and pays more (also involves more work, but I think it's like 2.5x the $ for 2x the hours, something like that - also closer to home and Episcopalian), and it all went really well, and today I got the news that they hired the other candidate. The normal routine at our house is that Himself gets the prince up in the morning and I put him to bed at night.

I had almost forgotten what this feels like. I wrote a fic! A real one! I haven't done that in literally years, and even longer if you reflect that it's not Yuletide.
It's out with betas now and I'm going to have to put it away and stop bouncing on the edge of my seat. -

I have this side job as a church choir section leader. When we all stopped going anywhere and certainly stopped singing in churches in March 2020, the longtime music director at my church job* had been retired† and his replacement announced, but the change wasn't going to happen until the fall ( Read more... ) -
