Have you ever seen or heard Pineapple Poll? It's a ballet set to music that is arranged entirely from bits of the Savoy Operas, with a plot just as silly of any of Gilberts. It's great fun for operetta spotting!

Yay! Yes - I've heard Pineapple Poll - never seen it, but I imagine it's great fun to watch. Brilliant use of Sullivan's tunes, anyway!

That's 'cos it is one of Gilbert's! The plot of 'Pineapple Poll' is heavily based on 'The Bumboat Woman's Story', which was one of the Bab Ballads that I got to do when we did 'Trial' and 'Zoo' the summer before last.
