Yes, every indication seems to be that things will get better from here - actually, I'm making better progress than we'd expected, and might even get an early discharge! Yay! *hugs* :)

Thank you m'dear - yes, all is well :)

And I'm glad I'm not the only person who really doesn't enjoy a morphine buzz!

...and sorry that the morphine didn't do it for you. It must have been my history (tiny and fully disclosed during security vetting) as a recreational drug user when at school. And you've learnt a new skill - there is quite a market for squirrel construction...

I'm pleased that you've had good company - not just the visitors but the other patients. It made such a difference to my total of 9 days in hospital a few years ago: us comparing war wounds and accidents, sharing our black humour and waging a campaign of passive resistance against the nurses (who were actually very nice but wanted us to behave like battery hens).

I can't wait until tomorrow (but will). Please be sure not to have any more mishaps, to get lots of sleep and to be perfectly presentable for 2pm.

Urgh... I remember morphine: monged-out and unable to crap without the aid of a corkscrew - 'tis a good thing you mostly don't need it.

Get well-er soon!

oh God. I'd forgotten that effect. Ow.

"Monged-out". Mmm... one I'll ponder.

Actually: good thing about that effect. I hate hospital toilets more than I hate hospital food (I used to have food smuggled in). So not being able to crap throughout my stay was painful, but at least allow me to suffer in the comfort of my own toilet.

Having said that, if you've had blunt dissection close your bowel, the last thing you need is to have to strain

TMI?

Maybe TMI, but very, *very* good point - actually, I've been deliberately choosing curries and suchlike for lunch, to make the whole experience as gentle as possible ;)
