The bad news is, this isn't Imperfections 9

Actually, I'm not sure there is good news. I've written a holiday story, which I swore I would never do, because, ew, yuck ( Read more... )

Hee, I love it! As a musician of sort, I too find it rather annoying when people murder common songs, and I'm not nearly the obsessive perfectionist that Rodney is.

Also: and he tuned unexpectedly violent - is that a typo or a clever musical pun?

Not so clever in retrospect. Actually kind of embarassing, now that it's been noticed.

I like this! I like Ronon's perspective on everything -- the food sharing thing is just cool, and the fact that he keeps doing it even after he realizes it isn't an important custom is really funny. And I love Rodney with the music -- that's just perfect. This kind of humor works just fine for me!

*hyperventilates happily*

OMG, this may be my #1 Atlantis fic kink - and that's saying something, considering that Atlantis is the fandom that hits all of everybody's kinks - which would be Rodney suddenly and unexpectedly morphing into an accomplished musician under the stunned observation of some/most/all the Atlantis team.

Plus, Ronon's observations about the weird Earth people and their weirder holidays was lots of fun. Ronon and/or Teyla observing the crazy Earth people is yet another fic kink. I especially liked how he was trying to untangle the holiday that *hee* started with Thanksgiving and continued for a month, and nobody'd been able to properly articulate that it was a number of holidays, some sacred and others secular. And some nice business with Weir and the food sharing stuff.

Ronon POV is just fun. But then, yet another of my fic kinks is the observing outsider (not just Ronon and/or Teyla), which is why I adore crossovers so much.

*hee* Thank you. The icon was originally done last year by angstpuppy.

But that's not just any ol' monster, you know. It's Cthulhu Claus!

*hugs Cthulhu Claus*

I truly do adore him and he makes me look forward to Christmas season. (Right now? He's the background on my LJ!)

Currently, they were in the middle of a month-long festival called "Christmas," and the celebration not only lasted a surprisingly long time, but involved activities they'd never shown any interest in before.

Heh. *snickers*

Your story is funny, don't worry. Much funnier than most of the times when the show tries (which unfortunately makes me cringe and sets of my embarrassment squick far too often). But this was cool so far, I love the Ronon POV.

I am right there with Rodney.

If there's anything that can pull even an amateur musician out of a non-musical period, it's the sheer trauma of hearing someone massacre something easy when you know they're capable of better. Seriously! So much mental anguish!
