A Somewhat Productive Day
As I’m writing this it is nearly 2am, so maybe it doesn’t count as so productive, but I feel pretty good about the day so far.
First off, in the daytime, I had two big things get done:
- I went to the doctor for an “Annual Maintenance Exam,” a.k.a "Yearly Physical.
- I got DSL installed at my place (Matt had the old account.)

A Town Turned Purple
I felt a little guilty going downtown for the Prince street party. I'd only even first heard his music in high school, and it was never something that "touched my life" or anything truly meaningful. I Might be Allergic to Work
My first grade year was the last year there was a “gifted and talented” program in Anoka-Hennepin schools. I qualified for the program and showed some interest in learning French from a young teacher in that program. I met with this teacher weekly and learned a little. Scoring my first soccer goal
At first it seemed like the one thing that would differentiate this Thursday from the other Thursday soccer nights was the presence of Matt Carey. Shopping for food and sucking at it.
Yesterday I finished improv and came back to this new place where I'm living and felt...like garbage. Just a great welling sadness. It probably doesn't help that I just talked to my mom (I moved out of living with my parents) and already one of my dogs is sick (and the dog is old too, so that never feels good). Vaccines and the nature of evidence
Today I ended up discussing vaccinations and this whole measles thing with one of my friends who is anti-vaccination. It was in person, which in most ways is less frustrating than online (people can be real dicks online), though is a little frustrating when you want to cite your sources and don’t remember the citations.
