So I got a nice new Samsung 960BF monitor yesterday, and hooked it up to my card with the (included!) DVI cable. Amazing picture, but with a problem. There was some noise in the image, and the occasional flicker. It took a while, but I found that at 1280x1024x60Hz the video card just couldn't output a DVI digital signal cleanly. The description of Vampire taking over the Server 2003 PDC in "one click" made me excited, to the point where I'm slightly embarrassed by my joy.

I just found and started using HipCal, MyPIMP renamed and relaunched. It's nice so far, but lacks iCal subscription/synchronisation, a good bug/feature tracking system, and is closed-source. One great feature is group calendars, which is EXACTLY what I was looking for.

Seems to be the best place to write things down is often LJ, so here's another little tidbit for my future reference. I had a wine a couple weeks ago that I liked, a Sangiovese from California from a place called Noceto. That is all. Time to learn to skate.
