Monday 23rdWell lots of fencing going on this week. Monday night we had our first "team social". This year as Captain of the Mens 1st Team, ive decided that every so often we're going to have nights out with just the team on our own. No other people from the club, and no women! Went Fencing this morning. Managed to make it up the hill for the early start of 9am. As the session lasts for three hours, I managed to get some matches in on all 3 weapons. Went down to the squadron last night for another parade night, to be met with a dissapointing turnout. The past 3 weeks have been going quite well, with an average of about 25 on parade each night. Last night that dropped to 12. Hopefully its just down to the fact that the schools around here are now on half term and they havent realised we stay ( Read more... )

Well its certainly been an eventful weekend. Friday night wasnt ever going to be my favourite night of the year. It was the third anniversary of my fathers unexpected death. Well I managed to get up out of bed this morning at the ridiculous time of 7am (on a Sunday I ask you!) and got myself down to the TA Centre to pick the cadets up. However only the CO and 1 cadet were there (3 were due to be picked up en-route), which meant that there was no need for me and my car! Friday Night at the squadron went fairly well. Plenty of cadets again, although numbers had dropped to about 24 from the 30 we had on wedsnesday, but again this is still better than we had over the summer. Well last fridays night out with all the new freshers with the fencing club turned out really well. Lots of new people turned up (obviously nothing to do with the free beer we gave them in Scholars).
