What temperatures are you able to maintain in your greenhouses, and how do you do it? We've been cooking. :( Shade cloth seems so expensive. Does it last a long time?

Do you plant your tomatoes under shelter?

The ends are off the greenhouse and the low tunnels, so they aren't that bad. If you aren't able to open it up sufficiently, you need to get an exhaust fan to help clear it out.

Eleven out of 92 tomato plants are under plastic. I'd like to do more.

I have wide doors on each end with regular fans set in them causing a current, but it's still ten degrees hotter in there than it is outside, and it's so hot! At least it won't last. The plants seem okay, but that may be deceiving.

10 degrees is about right. The central american fruit, like tomatoes, squash and chiles will be fine up to about 120. Just make sure you water them deep.

Yesterday wasn't too bad on the coast, but Tuesday was over 110. We had to escape to the beach.
