I agree with you! Garlic smashed potatoes with the skins on are the best! Yours sound particularly beautiful, with all the different colors of potatoes.
I also feel sorry for all the folks who think that mashed potatoes should be absolutely smooth with no texture. There must be chunks. There is no alternative.
