80s new wave lives on with my latest music discovery, She Wants Revenge. They cover all the bases from the faux British accents to the retro synths to the catchy bass guitar beats. Hooray, I've completed another trip around the sun. Yup, I aged some more back on the 11th. Beginning to approach that age where I can no longer be considered young anymore. Koda Kumi's new album, Trick, is pretty good. I like that she's changing up her style a bit with the dance tracks, which are always my favorites, of course. While sticking with R&B tempos, she's fused them with 80s synths in some interesting ways for this album. The results are some pretty cool dance tracks.

I made a few new music discoveries over the holidays. First one up is Lily Allen. She's a British pop singer, who has this great classic singing style, with very interesting instrumental flourishes, and very blunt and amusing lyrics. So much for my worries about Britney's new album, Circus. I still don't care much for Womanizer, but the rest of the album more than makes up for it. There's plenty of great dance tracks, but one of the more surprising tracks on this album is Out from Under, which is arguably the best ballad Britney has ever done.
