Delve combat demos with a friend

1/25/11 -- me and Matt W. at Matt's place

Tentacle fight, take 1, me GMing for Matt using Delve rules:

Too many whiffs. Tentacle missed him, he missed the tentacle or only scratched it. Why doesn't this happen in my home game? Is it because, with 3 PCs, something will inevitably go wrong for one of them, forcing the others to react?

Don't forget that a key part of my AW-Delve proposal is to hide the mechanics from the PCs and have the GM do all the rolling. The PCs will obviously still know when the GM rolls or doesn't. But there will also be times when the GM simply says, "No." And it won't be obvious why. So I don't think that dissatisfaction kills my idea.

Also, I frankly don't think I should have allowed for you to roll to try what you did given Delve's parameters.

Also also, monsters in Delve should be more resilient than in AW. Easily fixed.

Yes! We definitely need to give it a spin with the hidden mechanics. I'm psyched to see how that goes.
