oh, and one more comment on Alien: Resurrection . . . that scene where Sigourney Weaver makes the 30-foot behind-the-back basket? She actually made that shot . . . on the first take. How cool is that?

Late last night I finally got around to seeing Alien: Resurrection, from the phenomenal 9-disk (NINE disks!!!) box DVD set my parents got me for Christmas. Orion is up in the sky again. It's usually visible by earlyish in the Fall, but San Francisco lights + fog tend to blot out just about anything in the night sky, so I didn't notice it for the first time this year until just a few days ago.
