I Stoled This from Oshun ...

Spring has finally come to northern Vermont. I am comfortably wearing short sleeves right now, and the early-flowering trees have that faint crimson or pale green haze just starting. Bobby uncovered the hillbilly hot tub yesterday; it had a big chunk of ice still floating in it, but an afternoon in the sun and it was gone. We put our vegetable ( Read more... )

That wind sounds wild! We had several storms in March that came with loud, howling winds, which was quite unnerving (especially for Pippin pup).

Here's my m-thing:

Strong wind is the scariest weather to me. Thankfully, we do not get a lot of wind, living in the valley as we do; we lived on a ridgetop in Maryland, and the wind had become constant and awful. (It was not like that when we first moved there but seems to have been an effect of more severe climate-change-induced weather generally.) Friday night reminded me that I don't miss it.

Ooh, I haven't done a survey in a while, so I'm stealing this!

It's been spring here for a while here, but I think the leaves on the trees just showed up overnight! It was like early spring yesterday and all green today. (Now to prepare for endless sneezing and weird feelings in my nose and eyes...)

High wind is definitely one kind of weather I could do with less of, no matter where I am! It's not a constant, severe problem here, but few things can cause me the kind of anxiety (or outright fear, actually) I get when there's a rush of wind putting stress on the trees and power lines. Some of the trees around here make that creepy squeaky/groany noise when branches rub together that make me better understand the fear of a haunted house too. Plus chasing after hats is not my favorite sport!
