Cupcakes for everyone!

Oct 29, 2015 06:07

I have an interview up today on Word Spelunking. One of the questions was what kind of cupcake would be appropriate for Finders Keepers!

It would have to be chocolate because that's the only flavor worth eating.

Ain't it the truth?

It took me a long time to understand the cupcake craze because I thought of them as what we took to school on our birthdays. Than this bakery opened up in town called Scratch Cupcakes. OMG. They are so good.

A Nadia's Cupcakes opened near my niece's house. They have won some bake-off's or awards on the foodie channels. Oh my goodness, they were SO good.

There's so much sugar and fat in these that I feel a little dizzy afterwards. I'm out of training for that kind of food.

Great interview! I love the sneaky way around the one-sentence pitch ;-)

And I'm curious as to how random the random teaser was?!

If I hadn't already read it, it would make me want to read your book.

In other news, I'm on my way over for some brownies...

That actually was random, but Nilmandra said that the bit about cobwebs was one of her favorite lines. I didn't remember writing it.

The brownie recipe I use is from The Joy of Cooking. They mark some of their recipes with the word "cockaigne," meaning extra good stuff, and the brownie one has that word. These things are so excellent.

That was a clever interview, daw.. Also it's very interesting the large amount of difficulties and plot layers you are able to pile up in the summary. You're always talking about conflict and moving the plot but I think I had never before noticed how skilled you have become at that. Sounds perfect.

Thank you, Perelleth. Those little summaries are really hard to write because you have to get events, but make it clear, but also get enough character in that the events matter.
