With Truly, Madly, Guilty I ended up having to go and check what had happened because it was driving me nuts being teased. Once I knew I could go back and read it through. Not one of her best, I thought, though I still enjoyed it once I was less agitated!

I was on my kindle, which makes it harder to look ahead. I didn't think it was one of her best either, but even one that's not her best is still better than most of what's out there.

I enjoyed it more than I expected to. It started slowly, I thought, because there's a chase scene and I don't find them exciting. But then it kicked into high gear as soon as that was over.

Another possibility is Six of Crows if you haven't read it yet.
