I completely agree! (Okay well not about River Song but I know I'm in the minority on that. :P) But I did love all the same things

I HATED River Song after the Library episodes, but I went back to rewatch them before the Weeping Angels episodes. I was surprised that I actually liked her...and I like her more with 11 than 10.

It reminded me of the Doctor Dances where just this once, everybody lives.
My brother was complaining about the lack of resolution in the finale, and I quoted that line to him. ;) I was just so glad that there was a happy ending that I didn't really care that there were so many unanswered questions.

I think it'll be really interesting to see a plot develop over multiple series. Things have always been so self-contained before. I'm looking forward to whatever Moffat has planned for us next.

I hate comparisons between David and Matt because I love them both and while I don't agree with everything in this article it does make some very good points, mostly on the lightheartedness of Matt's Doctor. By the time David left, it didn't feel like a show for children anymore, and I think it's regained some of that levity and innocence now.

I found her intolerable with 10 so perhaps 11 just has a better effect on her. I still definitely don't like her but at least she's somewhat less annoying now.

Exactly! I'm sure the questions will be answered in time but for now we got a happy ending and we should rejoice. There's a reason the Doctor danced so ridiculously, because for once there was a reason to. We should embrace it.

That's a good way to put it. Obviously people are going to compare because it's two very different actors encapsulating one character. But since the character is so changeable it does make things more complicated. I compare simply on the basis of angst. Then again when Ten started out he was pretty angst free and only got more weighed down as he went on. I really hope the same doesn't happen to Eleven since his crazy, carefree ways are a lot of his charm.
