Grandma's Story Time
Once, there was a young boy named Griswold; his teeth were yellow. Though not yet sticks of butter, they were certainly off-color. Children would remark on the playgrounds, "There goes Griswold corntooth," and it made him feel bad. Aye, what a grand couple of days it has been. Alternatively: Aye, what grand days the past couple have been. As an English extraordinaire, I am bothered by the frustrating grammar of that sentence, and how the one that sounds best certainly isn't correct. I'm really sick all of the sudden. It sucks, because I have had this cough since prom, probably even before then, and a couple of days ago it just snowballed into this wretched congestion grossness.
