There's a guy in here testing the chem hood in the lab. I have Pandora playing a quickmix of all my stations. The volume is not too loud, but enough for him to hear a bit on the other side of the lab.

Our little group of 5 people recovered the following from the banks of the Salt Creek by the Odeum in Villa Park on Saturday morning:

• 20+ bags of trash (everything from beer cans to wiper blades to condoms)

• A pair of winter skis

• A car battery

• A tire

• An air conditioner unit

I just got called to the office to pick up a delivery.

I was surprised to see these from Tom.

He's such a nice guy. Glad I married the fella.

One good thing about these high gas prices is that everyone is now going, "Hmmm...maybe I shouldn't drive an ginormous SUV that gets 8mpg when there's only 3 people in the family."  Because of this, I actually hope prices stay high for a while.  Of course, there will always be the people who insist on having the SUV.  For the 3 times in 5 years ( Read more... )

Last Sunday, Tom and I trekked out to McKinley Woods in Channahon, IL. There we found all sorts of critters on the banks of the I&M Canal. Here are my best attempts at arty nature photos. Those snakes were just hanging out at the side of the trail. If you weren't looking for them, you would've walked right past them.
