bulk spices?

In a spectacularly unhelpful and irritating move, the P Street Whole Foods has stopped carrying spices in bulk.

Anybody have suggestions for an alternate source in the area?

Any of the Yes! Organic markets would have them, or look at some of the markets catering to specific ethnicities.

None of the ones around me in NoVa have them any more either.

There's a Penzey's in Falls Church - about 2 miles or so from East Falls Church Metro (might be closer to West Falls Church but I doubt it). However, that's probably not too much "in the area" for you.

I love Penzey's, and I have purchased all my spices from them for many years. But they do not sell "bulk spices" in terms of "buy anywhere from a tablespoon to a pound." They sell all their spices in several different sizes, the smallest of which contains about 1/4 cup. The quality and pricing are fabulous and I recommend them highly--but they do not sell "in bulk."

TPSS Co-op, OTOH, really does sell bulk spices, many of them organic. But I still like the quality at Penzey's better.

Ahhh, I figured you meant "I need one half or one pound of it" or some other discrete unit of measure.

Now I see what you're saying :-)
