That was absolutely delicious! Your Bobby voice is dead on and the whole story is filled with wonderful lines that sound like they are coming from the characters themselves. Very well done!
I guess it helps when the characters talk to you in your head. Hmm. This has to be the only place where that's seen as a good thing. :-) Thanks for commenting.
This was absolutely powerful. The dialogue is amazing and Bobby's anger toward John was palpable, as it should have been. The smaller things did not go amiss, like how Sam instantly got moving when he knew Dean needed him, how he didn't wait for John's permission to sit with his brother; his intuition and instinct around Dean was perfect.
I'm thinking this will be my canon for why Dean's eyes bled in Bloody Mary; Dean killed a human. Though, like John said, 'That's debatable...'
You know, someone else mentioned the Bloody Mary incident. I hadn't thought of it, but it makes perfectly good sense. We'll both make it our canon. :-) Thanks for commenting.
Oh wow...just wow. That was really powerful. Their voices are all spot on and it's filled with all these little lines that just ring so true.
John nodded as if Sam needed his permission. The boys were rapidly learning to rely completely on each other and shunt him aside whenever possible. As they should. *dies*
This was really powerful and heartbreaking. And all the characters were very in character. I especially loved your off-screen depiction of Dean, how hard he fought even at such a young age.
I take something like this as canon for Dean's character, though I doubt they'd ever come out with anything like this on the show. But his self-esteem issues, his sexual history, his almost over-the-top insistence that he doesn't "swing that way." They'd all be consistent with some kind of early sexual trauma. And yet you've managed to handle it here without it being after-school-special or melodramatic.
It was tasteful and packed a real punch, with the family dynamic, and John's relationship with his kids, at its core. Very well done!
Well, since I hated the Teen!Dean characterization in After School Special, I personally think we're better off leaving the past in the hands of fanfiction writers. :-) I'm glad you enjoyed the story. Thanks for commenting.
