Today after work, while I was finishing up some shopping for stocking stuffers I was thanked for my service by a very nice woman in her early 60's. At first I had forgot that I was in uniform and was going to ask "how did you know that I serve". I gladly extended my hand and said thank you back to the woman who at this time was almost in tears. People have strange ways of showing their pride and love for those of us in the military. Sometimes a handshake, sometimes a cut in line, and sometimes a free meal. Things like that restore my faith in humanity.
