Today after work, while I was finishing up some shopping for stocking stuffers I was thanked for my service by a very nice woman in her early 60's. At first I had forgot that I was in uniform and was going to ask "how did you know that I serve". I gladly extended my hand and said thank you back to the woman who at this time was almost in tears. You almost brought a tear to my eye. :)

People have strange ways of showing their pride and love for those of us in the military. Sometimes a handshake, sometimes a cut in line, and sometimes a free meal. Things like that restore my faith in humanity.
