Alex (daughter Alex) came to stay Friday night and Saturday we braved the buses across town to her flat. All a bit nerve  wracking as it was my first time out of the house in three weeks and I was worried about getting knocked or jolted. 30th/31st
Late afternoon on Thursday I was wheeled down to X-Ray ( probably to make sure the joint was put in the right way round and no extra bits added - I wonder if they ever have a couple of bits left over like when you put together a flat pack?)

29th/30th
There seemed a constant need to get blood from me, even though my blood pressure was low. One in three atempts were sucessful. Mostly there either wasn't a vein prominent enough or the vein collapsed after a couple of seconds.

Food consisted of a meager ham salad for lunch and a jacket potato and an omlette for dinner.

28th/29th
I don't remember at what point I came round. It was tea time ish and there were people taking my obs and someone trying to get some blood. I had a blood drip and a saline drip. It was the sort of floating in and out period.

Tuesday 28th, I was up at four. well I couldn't sleep. I rang the hospital at five anf there was a bed. Gave my neighbour my key so he could feed the animals and took the taxi to the hospital.

I'm almost scared to post anything in case it jynxs things but, he's actually perked up a lot. He has gradually started eating more, is going down the garden a couple of times a day and has shown an interest in his tennis ball.
I know he's still very ill so I'm not reading too much into it. However it's all a bit less dire.

The vets estimate that Eddie might have several months was apparently wildly opptomistic ( Read more... )
