So now that I see that the Jews are uprising still. I see.

Alas my secret jewess your views are not shared by me. Obviously if you and your husband had been of the Truth Faith he may not have died. God takes the ones that you love the most at his own whim. It is if you follow the true faith that determines if you go to heaven to see god or el ( Read more... )

Often there is naught to do but kill them, and then cry about it later.

Your logic is the same as mine it seems.

That I have already done.

I presume your implication is that those of us who are here, instead of with God, failed to follow the true faith? I do not appreciate the implication, my dear lady.

I suppose if that were the case, that would carry a few implications for Madame Reina d'Espana herself, wouldn't it?

Then what is your reason that we are all here? If mine is so wrong, then what do you have to say?

le_beau_fersen September 17 2006, 08:56:10 UTC
Nobody's suggesting your reasoning is wrong, merely pointing out that if you were passing some sort of judgement on us for being here then it would necessarily be a judgement on yourself as well.

My reasoning? That the afterlife, much like life itself, is entirely incomprehensible and really not what I was expecting at all.

"My people"? ... Do you mean the Swedish?

Frankly, I don't think I can be induced to care much about the state of their souls. Assuming, that is, they possess any.

I am sorry sir, I did not assume that you were all Spanish even if it sound like such.

Souls? If they possesed any wouldn't it be worth to save? But at least you are to the point. More than what I can say for others.

Not at all, merely wondering out loud exactly who "my people" are.

(I've been mistaken for a Frenchman on several occasions, but never yet as Spanish.)

Mistake as a Frenchmen? Who would wish to insult you so much?

(My typist is laughing for some odd reason.)

I would never presume such an undertaking as you suggest, and certainly not by your unenlightened methods. The upkeep of the souls of my people is entirely between them and the Supreme Being. If the People of France are virtuous, what right have I to meddle with their private beliefs? My only concern is and must be whether they are upright citizens of the Republic.

I must also note that Jews make much better citizens than your ilk, who caused our Republic nothing but grief. Admittedly, followers of your "true faith" are more docile victims of the oppression of the monarchy of which you make a part, no small part, I am sure, in your calculations regarding their souls.

So you never thought to care for your people? Not even their well being after they have moved on? Your sole concern is the well being of your perfect little Rebuplic instead of the people God put you on this earth to care about?

You tell me that I am uneligthened but obviously you don't care for anyone other than yourself. How enlightened can this be? Maybe if you were not French you might actually have a soul to save. I had my Inquistion. Your fiancée just killed all your people, with no regard to who they were. Am I really at fault here in comparison to him?

I am of the People, and not here to care for them in any other capacity than that of fellow citizen. The Republic, being the only sure way we can secure the happiness and well-being of that People of which I am a part, is worth all our concern. Without the Republic the people are miserable and enslaved, as they were under your reign and those of all tyrants. There is no shame and much honor in placing the Republic before all else, since men only have dignity and liberty under Republican government.

How is it that I care for no one but myself? I who care for nothing if not the fate of the poor and unfortunate. I who would see them magnanimous, puissant, and joyful, not so I can receive a reward, but for their own sakes. Since I am one of the People and have never sought to place myself above them, I suppose you would say it is selfish to care for them. I do not. I have respect for myself and my fellow citizens and it is thus that I wanted us all to live in freedom, equality, and fraternity. If we perform our duty toward ourselves and ( ... )

"So I ask to everyone, even the little secret jewess, what do you do when you know you can't save the souls of your people?"

I tend to charm them anyway. It's my deepest secret that I find hatred almost impossible to maintain and certainly unworthy of the effort to do so. My default instinct is to love, sooth, and delight others even those I know to be pathetic fools wrapped in the rank and foul webbing of their own deluded ego.

Speaking of, have I told you yet how lovely it has been to enjoy your highness' company here today?

"Thank you, I know that I have enjoyed your company as much as you have enjoyed mine."

I hope this is the case, for then you would have truly enjoyed my company very much as I can only be delighted and charmed by the presence of such a gracious and - dare I say - natrually noble and honorable dignitary such as yourself? May I add it is easy to see where the word dignitary comes from after time spent in your magnanimous company!

But try something against SecretJewess again, my dear, and you'll see what the business end of the Popular Front looks like. It has perhaps been a while since I last sent bombers to Spain, but I enjoyed it quite thuroughly the last time, too.

Now is as good a time as any for you to realize I'm more of a queen than you'll ever be and more of a man than you'll ever get!

My dear friend, do not trouble yourself with this madwoman. She rages, and yet she is impotent in the face of her own Inquisition's ignoble end. My friends in the present century tell me that the current and late Popes both had cordial relations with the Jews. Well, as cordial as they could be, given the centuries of opression.

But I pray you, do not endanger yourself or engage the Popular Front on my behalf. I've dedicated my afterlife to opposing conflict, not fostering it. That is my heaven. (I was having a lovely time in Beirut until my typist brought me back here.)

And you totally got that from Rent, didn't you? Double Happiness.
