I need to put together a pretty lengthy mix of songs about 'the road' and 'traveling' and such for an upcoming event. They need to be PG-rated and not to downbeat. Any ideas?
I perused my iTunes just for you...hyacinth321September 14 2008, 23:04:15 UTC
"Light Enough to Travel" by the Be Good Tanyas "Ticket to Ride" by the Beatles "Silver Road" by Sarah Harmer "Another Travelin' Song" by Bright Eyes "Fast Boat to Sydney" by Johnny Cash & June Carter Cash "Carolina" by M. Ward "Home" by Marc Broussard "All the Roadrunning" by Marc Knopfler & Emmylou Harris "Hitchhike" by Marvin Gaye "Roadrunner" by Modern Lovers "Listen to the Radio" by Nancy Griffith "Train from Kansas City" by Neko Case "Going Whichever Way the Wind Blows" by Pete Droge "King of the Road" "Gone Gone Gone" by Robert Plant & Allison Krauss "Long Lonesome Highway" by Steve Earle & Del McCoury Band
You should play trucker and CB songs exclusively. You've got Red Sovine, Red Simpson and all the other Reds. C.W. McCall's Convoy is universally loved.
