I am SO happy to see you all playing. And Pete doesn't need browbeating, he needs caressing, and fine liquor, and visions of snakeskin Disco boots. In the end, though, all I really told him is that music didn't have to be THE priority in his life, just A priority, and that his kids would love seeing him perform. Then we got drunk and I launched into something about the universe being out of balance without him playing drums ...

Whatever you said, it worked. Dave and I have tried other drummers but it's never the same. It's got to be PETE. You should spend hundreds of dollars and hours of your valuable time to fly across the country just to watch our two-hour set. Well, now that I've typed that, it sounds pretty ridiculous.

Nothing would give me greater pleasure, but have you considered playing San Francisco? You'd only lose a couple grand collectively, but I could set it up, and promise to pay you in burritos as big as your thigh.
