Feel a bit better for finishing that essay, though it needs a lot of editing. It's the last summative, non-exam essay I'll ever have to write again, and that actually fills me with relief rather than anything else.

I saw Jarhead last night and was quite impressed. Lots of one-liners which were highly quotable, not many battle scenes&of course the lovely Jake Gyllenhaal. What I think is quite good about Jake, is to me he's still Donnie Darko, so he can still play those slightly off balance characters with the greatest of ease ( Read more... )

Ian McEwan's 'Saturday' is a definite return to form. I love Ian McEwan, I love the lives of his characters, the central London homes, the professionalism of the lead character, how science and art always collides. Until I'd been watching the odd old Pulp video, I had no idea I was missing out on so much with Jarvis Cocker! He was a lovely-thing when was younger. Kinda did the androgyny quite well. Very, very cute!

It's tickling my humour to find in my kitchen Alastair, Chris and Paul playing poker, with pasta shells. Such students!

I finally got Colt's album today, it's so pretty&chilled out. Finally, hard copies of Death&Sequins and my favourite, Envy. I think this is the start of a beautiful relationship. Durham is so pretty in the autumn.

I'm slightly scared by the fact I've just spent £38.90 on Katie Jane's solo album, but it comes with a DVD&a booklet which I know will be worth it. Still, £40 is a lot of money&I wanted to buy the ICA album as well, seeing as I was there'n'all. I like the idea I'll have this whole little collection of her works.
