Don't feel like a loser about school...

I'm going into my 4th year of college, at my 3rd college, in my 3rd major...and I still don't know what the hell I wanna do!

Yeah, I just fear that I'll never graduate. I do love school (if I learn something) but I can't afford it, and need to get a permanent career.

Are you taking symbolic logic because you plan on majoring in philosophy once you transfer? When I transferred to Berkeley I initially couldn't take intermediate and advanced logic courses because I had to retake Logic. The whole thing. From the beginning. They didn't care that I had an A. Make sure to check with the transfer office at your school to see if the Logic course you're taking will be accepted by the schools you want to attend.

And don't judge a philosopher by his/her smile. They're all frowning. Philosophy is serious, remember?

All your pics look lovely. Rotate. :)

No, my major is Nursing, and somehow, certain schools require that class for this major. But I do plan on minoring in Philosophy if it's offered.

I really don't like the second one. I understand how you feel about college. There's a lot of social pressure to finish these things early in life. I'm 23 and just about at the beginning of college, so I understand how that pressure is. Just remember you've got at least another 65 years of life left. You'll have plenty of time to use that degree once you get it. :-)

Yeah, I understand. My parents don't have that time though, and want to see me graduate and get a job so I can help them out, buying a house and stuff.

Why don't you like the second one?

Er, I just re-read my comment and I realized that I wrote that I don't like the second one. I meant that I really do like the second one. I don't know where my head was when I typed that.

oh, hah. Ok, that's nice to hear. I was beginning to wonder why you didn't say you'd prefer 1 or 3 instead.

I was intimidated by my Phi profs until I ran smack into 500 level Phi of Science.  The prof made it plain he did not care for philosophy students, and wasn't all that academic.  That got me over my intimidation Real Quick.  =7  Phi profs are like everyone else:  they have their quirks, ups and downs just like everyone else.

Funny, my departmental advisor (and S. Logic prof) retired to SD a few years ago.  He was an intimidating sort, and remained so until after I'd graduated.

My first philosophy professor was pretty good though. It was Paul Churchland for Epistemology.

How was he as a lecturer?

He was really nice and always laughing, reminds me of Santa Claus for some reason. But he's enthusiastic about what he teaches, funny, and a great story teller. We used one of his books for the class, so it made lectures go smoothly with the text and he explained everything clearly.
