Oh, lovely, so, so wonderful! The sensory images in this were excellent, and the tension between Jeff and Annie was both subtle and tangible. And the kiss, guh, so good. This was excellent all-around, loved it!

Awwww, this reminds my of my nights in my best friend's pool. Except it's just us girls. No hot tall guys to kiss and... stuff. There's something about the way you write, it's very subtle and beautiful. "The stars seem closer than normal and for a moment she imagines that she’s floating out in the vastness of space. " This is so lovely and it really does feel like that.
I'm also comforted someone else is afraid of the dark. I'm 20 and I still make my dog sleep in my room, I just prefer not being alone in the dark.

I'm so glad you enjoyed! And yeah, you're definitely not alone in the scared-of-the-dark thing. I'm pretty much took everything Annie thought at the beginning from my own fears during a blackout we had last week. Except I didn't have a Jeff Winger to call. *sigh*

They’re in the deep end of the pool and he can stand, but she’s left trying to tread water, holding onto him and it’s not really working so she bends her legs up and around his waist, circling her arms around his shoulders, fingers pressing into the muscles of his back. His eyes are closed and he’s not really breathing so she stills around him and drops her forehead to his shoulder, as if any kind of movement will jar this moment away.

This was incredibly hot.
