Okay, today we got our I.R. assignments, and we had to go to the library to pick out books. I picked up The Hero's Walk, and my teacher says, "That story is too long, you'll get bored of it." How does she know what interests me? She isn't me, I've already read the book, I just wanted something easy, since it's 4th term, and I don't care about

ahhh i know EXACTLY how you feel! I was sooo excited to take AP English next year because the teacher is amazing and it's all about reading and analysing (sp?) and thats what I like to do. I didn't try that hard this year because I think the class is boring and don't like how my teacher runs it. So we get our course selection sheets and I ask her to sign off and recommend me for AP English. She just flat out said "No." and that was that.

I assume you've read Perks of Being a Wallflower and Catcher in the Rye... If for some reason you haven't, i HIGHLY recommend both.

rock on man! Reading is something I love to do as well. Catch-22 is one of my favorite books ever. A lot of people have trouble with it because Heller's vocabulary is so broad, but its not too too bad. Have fun with it, and show your teacher that she's a n00b.
