that isn't true at all. The best thing you can do is appreciate your friends -- which you clearly do. To realize that there are people that are out there that think only for themselves and then there are people that will be there for you and care about you... that does matter. The latter are the ones you surround yourself with, the positive ones -- those whose actions need not be questioned.
You might not feel as though you deserve your friends (which is silly) but your appreciation for them, knowing they aren't required or obligated to be there for you, that does matter, that does count.
