[Assuring himself of this fact one more time:] I can't be dead.
[Needless to say, Barnaby is noooot pleased to be here. Wherever here is. He last remembers his apartment, and the rough feeling of the cold floor pressed against his skin as he tried to get his cell phone. He remembers pain, from his side, after the fight--did he break a rib?--and

[ Malik hadn't spent much time in the Red Zones, personally. He'd lingered on the outskirts, memorized the Neutral Zones and where they led to their opposite arenas. He'd been careful to watch as others passed in and out of them, tailed them in utter silence for a handful of moments before retreating to retrace the new path he'd learned.
Now was no different.
He finds himself a good few paces behind the other, pressed to the wall as he moves along it in the heart of the shadows the fall from each wall they pass. He never ventures too close, though he keeps the blond in earshot and in his line of sight. His eyes snap from the ground to the other's back, careful not to make any sounds, watching for any sign of notice the other may give in regards to his presence.
Still, his grip on his tonfa tighten, his eyes narrowing as he peers carefully around one wall, watching the stranger still. ]

[And Barnaby just continues walking. He's still far too confused on his surroundings, and it doesn't look like moving anywhere is going to actually help him. Not unless he can find another individual or two, because...
Well, this is all ridiculous! It's insanely ridiculous and he'd like to find that Sarah girl so he can just go home... if he can. After all, he's not dead. But he stops walking, once again, and glances towards the top of buildings. He's trying to look for anything unusual. Granted, his "find weird out-of-ordinary things"-o-meter's a bit faulty, since it's picking up everything in front of him, but he's got to try something, anything, to keep himself from fidgeting.]
Hn... Where... should I go next?
[He's not even sure. But left always seems like a decent enough choice. So he resumes walking, steps straying towards the left side of buildings. Surely, he'd find his way out somehow. Or a person. Or a building that's not falling apart. Holding onto this ( ... )

[ Malik continues to follow - watches and observes the strange man. He spares himself a thought that he must be new to this place, newer than himself. There's a small shred of understanding for the possibility but he dismisses it easily in favor of continuing forward with the same silence and caution he'd begun with.
But he doesn't get much farther before he pauses on the edge of the shadow he'd been creeping through. Continuing forward was, perhaps, a chance for the other to spot him but Malik knows his intent now is not to cause harm or confront this stranger. Not until he knows more of this place, knows of his environment and perhaps his 'target'.
A brief thought to his teachings ( Stay your blade from the flesh of an innocent ) and he finally steps forward with a purposeful, resounding step. ] To safety that this area will not offer you.

[It's an odd place, definitely. Run-down, dark, definitely a mystery he's not sure he wants solved. But he probably should, just so he's not stuck roaming about in a too-constant mystery...
Though, as he walks, his ears catch the sound of another step, and he stops again. Eyes slowly edge to his right.
...To safety?
He turns around to face the new individual, the first question in his mind wondering if this man was part of the group who brought him here. His eyes narrow at that idea, but he stays calm, calculating carefully. This man could be an ally, or a decent source of information... Barnaby can't tell.]
And where would I find that?

What do the facts tell you.
[it's some guy in a suit, smoking]

Are you the one who brought me here?

okay, that's fair.
he looks sincerely entertained for a moment.]
This isn't the kind of hell I would make.

[But that means he might be good for information! Barnaby takes a step closer.]

[ But not quite enough for him to leave them alone. Instead, he remains perched on the stone pillar he'd taken to sitting on, calling out with a grin to the man. ]
Lost already?

Lost? It's difficult to not be lost if you never knew where you were.
