Having major angst about whether or not to watch the season finale until like maybe...October. Can anyone advise me?

Vague spoilers, if at all possible, although I think I've already spoiled myself aplenty!

Also, I've started a new resurrected!John story, so there is that.

Squeeee! about the promise of new fic!

I definitely recommend watching the rest of season 6. I did feel as though there wasn't the focus on the brothers' relationship with each other that we've had in other seasons - so for me it wasn't as emotionally intense as past years. But there was nothing that made me upset, and SO MUCH to look forward to next season. It sounds like you've decided to watch it, so I hope you do and join us in speculating where Jeremy Carver will take season 8!

Lol, because I haven't been reading SPN fanfic, I kind of assume that nobody is. It's good to know there are still readers!

And that is very, very good to know because you and I are so in sync when it comes to this show. I'm sure that's why I've been feeling meh. Because for me, it's all about Sam&Dean, all the time, and I know I am greedy that way. It think the fact they haven't been mad at each other has reduced that necessary aspect of our show. Be careful what you wish for and all that.

So glad we have S8 though and so glad Jeremy Carver will be on board!

I am in the UK so I can't wait for season 7 to start over here! I want it back now. They always wait for eternity for it to come here! Is so sad right now!

Honestly, of the 4 Sam girls that I chat with on a regular basis (phx, Geminigrl11 and Trasan) two of them didn't bother to watch. Phx and I were underwhelmed and rather disappointed. I hope that Jeremy can fix the show, but truthfully, I wish it would have just ended at season 5. I'm happy the boys and the crew are still working but there have been some pretty shotty storylines. I like that they tried to build up the relationship between the boys again but another season with Cas may just turn me off for good.

That said, I am apparently a masochist and will watch for now... sigh. I hope some good fic comes of it, but I feel it will be more Dean-centric, as it has been of late, so not too much for us poor Sam girls. :(

Aw, sorry you've been so disappointed. In general, I've been happy with 6-7. LOVED the first half of season 7 in fact, Sam's wall and all. I am most happy when the boys are bottle clinking and enjoying each other, which is why I'm happy they didn't end at season 5.

(and also, then Sam would have been in Hell which would be a harsh series finale!)

But yeah, the last third of this season has been lackluster for me. And yet, I have hope, which may be unwarranted, but I believe the show has some stories left to tell.

Glad you're writing a new story!

I enjoyed the last episode; the second-to-last not as much. There are some dangling plot-points that I had to decide not to worry about, but I'm looking forward to next season and anything anyone writes over the hiatus starting at the cliffhanger especially. I guess whether you should watch them or not depends on whether you generally find yourself pretty happy after watching an episode even when it's imperfect. If yes, then go for it! :)
